Making a difference in the first five years of children’s lives is vital. The work we do aims to champion the importance of our children and inspire the potential of the next generation. We approach our goal from two directions: through policy and our community. Leveraging our resources gained through fundraising and political measures, we can provide more outreach into our communities and effect real change to the health and wellbeing of children throughout the UK.
Approaching our goal from two directions: through policy and our community
Our political work provides the backbone of our enterprise through the creation of improved policy structure to deliver enhanced child health and wellbeing. This incorporates projects such as conducting scientific research into early years and child development, lobbying, providing advice and information for policy makers, and hosting partnership and industry events to promote our cause. Having a senior member of cabinet championing children and young people will allow us to press policy-makers to put our children at the heart of all decision-making.
Community outreach initiatives
The heart of our work, though, is done within our communities where we will deliver activities that directly impact children’s health and wellbeing. We commit to free swimming lessons and swim nappies for children who need them, online learning to teach valuable life skills for parents and children, and envisage water splash areas to encourage play as well as water confidence and safety.
